1848 is when they found gold. Luckily we got California after the American-Mexican War. If we didn't, the Mexicans would be rich.

ok on one side there is a miner gold panning for gold in the backround a wagon other side, a mine with two miners mineing for gold.

Do not take pictures so close to the coin, it gets blurry, and keep the camera steady.
