And I know there's no boom in a vacuum, but... Here's a screenshot of a galaxy collission I tried to make look like a nuclear bomb blast.

Yes sir. Here it is.
First, there are three galaxies. Leave them alone and let them collide. When the two heavy galaxies have passed each other, pause the sim, place a black hole in the middle of the new galaxy (where they crossed each other) with the mass of the two galaxies and remove the galaxies (not the particles, just the bodies they're applied to). Let the sim continue, and at one point it will look like a nuke blast if you turn the image by 180 degrees. Smiley

As a general side note (not criticizing this, as this looks cool as-is): did you know, that a real nuclear explosion in space will look nothing like the ones we would see on earth due to absence of atmosphere (which is responsible for the shock wave, mushroom shape, visible blast and attenuates radiation/emp effects greatly).

That's cool!
