Have you heard about Boinc?
It let's you donate your free computer power to Science programs, like seti@home, rosetta@home, milkyway@home, cosmology@home etc.
You can join teams and view statistics about how much you've donated, we could make a Universe Sandbox community team (perhaps with another name) if you're interested in Boinc.

I run uFluids, PrimeGrid, climateprediction, and... Umm... That's it. I deleted some because I don't know. Used to have MilkyWay, Einstien, and SETI.

Maybe I should join again. I closed all Boinc projects on my com... More than a year ago, I think. I don't even have it installed anymore.
