butterflies |ˈbətərˌflīs| (n.) A strong desire to screw over the Aeridani Union

While I was look through one of my systems I was zooming all the way in until their was a message saying "Trigger Landing (random numbers here)" and I started flying away. I did it again and went to 'Earth and Moon' system and tried the same thing, but I crashed. For some reason when it goes along the rotation of the object it's velocity speeds up, but it still stays on the surface.

Actually, I don't even know the controls either. So is this the one SuperNova suggested?

Good find. If you zoom in as far as you can on a planet, then try to zoom in again, it will add a selectable point that's fixed to the surface.

This was an experiment in letting the user "land" on the planet to see what the sky looks like from that point. More to do on this to complete the feature.

If you add a number of points on the "Earth", turn up trail length, and hit "B" to hide bodies, you can get some pretty cool looking trails.

So you can see the objects in the sky!

It was your post many months ago that inspired this feature. Thanks for the idea.

It's still not finished. Two main things to add:
 - When you 'land' on a planet, up needs to be redefined as perpendicular to the planet's surface
 - You shouldn't be able to fly through the planet, you'll want to collide with the surface
